Peter Tow, born in Singapore and educated in the United States, completed a Bachelor of Architecture at University of Oregon and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design at Columbia University. After graduating, he apprenticed with Architectural Digest’s “Top 100 Architects” member, Edward F. Knowles in New York City. Other firms Peter has worked in includes “Pei, Freed and Cobb Architects”, Richard Cook of “Cook & Fox Architects”, and “Platt Byard Dovell White Architects”. Tow established his own design studio in 1995 and has proceeded to work on diverse projects including collaborating with European based designers, Tino Zervudachi of “Mlinaric, Henry and Zervudachi” and the late Ed Tuttle.
Past clients have included, The Vilcek Foundation, The Loews Hotel chain, The artist, Brice Marden, Masterchef, Judy Joo and Academy Award winning composer, Tan Dun.
Tow has won various awards including a Historic Preservation Award from “The Friends of the Upper Eastside Historic District”, First prize in the “Visual Merchandising Store Design International Competition” and numerous kitchen design awards. Tow’s work can be seen in New York City, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Jakarta. In addition to maintaining an office in New York, Tow has recently opened a West Coast office in Portland, Oregon.
